Casey Otis is a litigator practicing in the firm’s trust and estate litigation group. Before joining Carico Macdonald Kil & Benz LLP, Casey defended clients in wide-ranging general and professional liability matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, habitability, business litigation, construction defect, products liability, and veterinary/medical malpractice.  Casey has experience in all aspects of state and federal court litigation including pre-trial law and motion, depositions, written discovery, trial preparation and trial.  He also has experience negotiating business disputes over contracts and real estate matters.

Casey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Environmental Studies from UCLA. He received his law degree from University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.

In law school, Casey interned at the USD Entrepreneurship Clinic working closely with start-up companies and small businesses, drafting and filing corporate formation documents and related contracts.  Casey received the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Contract Drafting, and Community Property.

Outside his law practice, Casey is an avid sports fan who enjoys participating in recreational softball leagues, watching UCLA Athletics, and cheering for the New York Yankees thanks to his family’s East Coast roots.
